The Conway Muse is open Wednesday thru Sunday from 5 pm to 11 pm (ish). The Muse is a full service restaurant, lounge, and entertainment venue with three indoor stages and an outdoor stage. The Muse is available for weddings and rentals and is a one of a kind destination place.
The Conway Muse is a gambrel style barn and was built in 1915. It originally was a Scandinavian Dairy Barn and served in that capacity thru the 1960s. The old hayloft doors are still visible upstairs in the Renaissance Room and the hay was tossed between the beams where the bathroom stalls are located today. In the 1960s thru early 2000s the building was converted for retail use and housed antique stores and later was the base for Herk Hancock’s auction business, may he Rest in Peace.
Today, the Muse is owned by Elfa Gisla and Tom Richardson who purchased and saved the barn at the beginning of this century. It is an eclectic restaurant, full service bar and performance venue, a destination place that is gaining renown on the West Coast in the music and arts community. It hosts live entertainment 5 nights a week.
The Muse was named after the Greek Muses, who were the daughters of Zeus and Mynemosyne and they are known to patronage the arts.
The nine muses are:
